Howdy folks! We have a change in blogger for this post.

I'm still trying to discover the type of photographer I want to be when I grow up. A good one, obviously, but I’m just not sure where I’d like to focus my efforts outside of working with Amberlee. As someone who loves, loves, loves babies I initially thought I’d like to work toward taking newborn studio pictures. Amberlee offered to teach me, so I borrowed my friend’s eight-day-old little girl, Alyssa, and got my learn on.

And learn I did. I learned that newborn studio pictures are tough and, quite possibly, not for me. As cute as the pictures are, the sessions are extremely time consuming and require a lot of patience. The latter is something I definitely lack.

But! I’m so thankful I tried. I would’ve walked around wondering “What if..?” otherwise. I’m also thankful Amberlee was willing to take time out of her already busy schedule to direct me (and provide moral support … ha!).
